Care for Others
By this will all people know you are my disciples,
if you love one another as I have loved you.
John 13:34-35
Help care for others by being a part of our Care Ministry Teams:
- Parent/Child Team
Members of this team (primarily parents and children between the ages of 4 and 12) participate in activities together that help those in need and/or show thanks, support, and encouragement to others. Volunteer with your child to be a part of this ministry.
Contact: Gary Walljasper, 276-2732
- Helping Hands
A ministry to meet the care needs of our congregation (light home maintenance, outdoor work, respite care, rides) by matching your gifts and skills with those who could use help.
Contact: Larry Madole, 276-2608
- Soul Food
A ministry to provide meals to people who are in the midst of difficult circumstances (i.e., illness, bed rest, injury, etc.). You would be contacted as needs arise to see if you would be available to prepare and deliver a meal.
Contact: Shawn Kolb, 987-8092
- Greeters
Serve on a rotating basis before worship services to warmly greet all that come to worship. Our greeters act as "hosts" who take particular care and concern that guests are well accommodated.
Contact: Harlan Bergman, 276-4635 (Meredith Drive Campus), and Gail Russ, 986-0003 (Bridge Campus)
- Guest Services
This ministry exists to provide a place where members and guests can be greeted by a friendly smile and provided with information and answers to their questions. Volunteers work on a rotating basis.
Contact: Judy Van Zee, 279-0338 (Meredith Drive Campus), and Gail Russ, 986-0003 (Bridge Campus)
- Marriage Ministry
This ministry exists to encourage and renew marriage relationships through each stage of life and to glorify God by building healthy marriages for this generation and the next.
Contact: David & Amy Groen, 225-8958, and Rob & Cynthia MacDougall, 331-1580
- Prayer Shawl
Prayer Shawls are made and then the shawl and a prayer card are given to people who are ill, suffered a loss, or in the midst of a crisis. Like to knit? This group is for you. Can't knit? Purchase 3 skeins of yarn (Lion brand - Homespun) or donate money toward yarn.
Contact: Carol Bastemeyer, 224-4510
- Quilters
This is the opportunity to get to know others better and at the same time provide a valuable service to the community by making quilts to give to others. This ministry team requires no sewing talent to participate.
