We believe the Bible as God's Word, divinely inspired and our only standard for determining what we believe and how we live in the world. We believe Christian worship is about God and for God and should bring glory and honor to God through the active participation of the whole congregation. We believe prayer is a vital and important means for deepening our personal relationships with God and is absolutely essential to the on-going spiritual formation of our congregational life. We believe the church is called to seek the lost, make disciples, and help people grow into useful servant-members of the Body of Christ. We believe children and youth have a special place in the heart of God, and the church should be proactive in helping families grow in their relationships with Christ and with one another. We believe the church and its members should seek out opportunities to be involved in ministries of compassionate service and mission, with a commitment to reach beyond class, racial, and ethnic barriers in our community and world. We believe Christians need one another and should be cultivating supportive, encouraging, involved relationships with one another as disciples of Christ through participation in small groups. We believe every Christian disciple has been blessed by God with some gift or gifts that should be discovered, developed, and used to make the church more effective in fulfilling its mission. We believe God calls his people to be good stewards of the financial resources, inviting us to give back to him at least a tithe (10%) of what he has first given us. |
