Image Nine of us traveled the road
again to the gulf coast region
to help rebuild homes, lives,
and hope in the people who
two and a half years ago
suffered from Hurricane
Katrina and the aftermath
of flooding.  People told
us they had been
praying for over two years
that "someone" would come and help them rebuild their home.
We met a man who has lived in a "shed" for over a year waiting for someone to
come and put a roof on his new home; he is disabled.  There were tears and much gratitude.  We saw ourselves as a small piece of the big picture; what we did not
finish, someone who follows will.  Bruce and Laurie Hawley, RCA missionaries, were
in the area for seven weeks hosting weekly teams and coordinating the jobs.
As always there was much heartbreak as well as laughter, fellowship, and finding
new ways and places to "see Jesus" and advance His Kingdom.
Team members:  Denny & Judy Applegate, Dave & Sheila Clark, Gary & Sharon Carr,
Lloyd and Ruth Graham, and Gene Tasler.
