The Meredith Drive Reformed Church Endowment Fund was established in 1999 to provide an outreach that is beyond what is provided for in our regular church budget. This outreach – taking the Good News of Jesus Christ beyond our own walls – recognizes the truth that only what’s done for Christ will last.
What is an Endowment Fund?
An endowment fund is simply an account from which only the earnings are used. All contributions to the endowment fund are invested and remain untouched. Only a portion of the interest is used each year for mission projects and mission trips, thereby allowing the fund to grow and continue to reach out in Jesus' name long beyond our own earthly lives.
How is the Endowment Fund Used?
Though the MDRC Endowment Fund is only a few years old, it has already generated financial assistance for many mission trips by
church members. The Endowment Fund has also funded other mission outreach programs. The committee may also disburse
funds to support other outreach and benevolent purposes. Requests for these funds will generally come through MDRC pastors and staff.
How do I apply for Endowment Fund assistance?
MDRC members and their immediate families may request financial support for a MDRC sponsored mission trip by submitting an official application form at least 60 days prior to the trip. Applications may be obtained from the church office.
It is generally assumed that if the member did not receive financial support they would not be able to participate in the mission trip. The Endowment Fund committee may approve up to 50% of the reasonable cost or expense of the mission trip.
