  • Prayers for Anointing
    James wrote:
"Is any of you ill? Call for the elders of the church to pray and anoint you with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith and truth will bring healing inside and out." (James 5:13-16)

Oil was one of the best known ancient medicines. Some believe James was using this term in a medical way. Others regard the call to prayer and anointing as an outward sign of humbleness and trust in God for healing.

It is not the oil or prayer that heals. But it is a reminder of our trust and hope in the Lord, the one who is the healer. We acknowledge in prayer and anointing our faith in Him and His presence to us, and seek His healing power.

Teams of elders and pastoral care council members are available to come to pray for you at home or in the hospital. Call Pastor Jane Brown, 276-4901, to request an available team.
