Des Moines Farmer’s Market Outreach Saturday, May 19 Here’s what you’ll do… As an individual or a family you’ll join our team on the corner of 5th Ave. and Court Ave. as we bless our community with family-friendly music, storytelling, balloons, sidewalk chalk and more! We are in need of volunteers to help us provide entertainment and to pass out balloons, brochures, or to simply say hello to those passing by. We kindly ask that all children have an adult present with them when volunteering. If you are unable to volunteer, we hope you’ll be able to stop by and say hello! Morning Vacation Bible School June 18-22 Do you desire to be part of something that has an eternal impact in the life of a child? Then join our VBS team! It takes roughly 135 faithful volunteers to pull off the morning VBS at our church each year. Here’s what you’ll do… Check out the various volunteer roles to see which one might be fitting for you. We are in need of students (Fall 2018 7th graders or older) and adults to be crew leaders who shepherd small groups of kids from station to station, games/recreational volunteers, Bible story teachers, Bible drama volunteers, music leaders, hospitality and registration volunteers, and more!
Summer Kids Connection Classes for Preschool-3rd Graders This summer Kids Ministry will be offering a nine-week Summer Kids Connection session for preschool-3rd grade students at both The Bridge campus and the Meredith Drive campus. In order to offer this opportunity for our children we need parents, grandparents, or other faithful individuals (Fall 2018 7th grade or older) to sign up to help lead just ONE of those nine weeks during the Sunday morning worship hour. All lessons are prepared in advance for volunteers, and awesome support is available from our Kids Ministry staff. Would you consider being the hands and feet of Jesus to our little ones in this way? Check-in and Hospitality Ministry Did you know that when a guest visits a church they often form their first and lasting impressions in the first 7 minutes from the parking lot to the front door? This is why we are in need of extra check-in and hospitality volunteers to welcome and serve our guests and young families with children as they enter our church each Sunday! If you can serve once every 4-6 weeks, you are able to give a friendly hello, and you are willing to learn a simple computer program to help check in families for Kids Connection classes, then this is a great fit for you! You'll be joining a team of passionate people who serve an incredibly IMPORTANT purpose in the life of our church! |
